Volunteer

Thousands of individuals volunteer at Community Harvest Food Bank every year, helping us to collect, sort, and distribute food to people in need. We do this in Allen, Adams, Dekalb, Huntington, LaGrange, Noble, Steuben, Wells, and Whitley County! This is a great place for families with children to volunteer and there is always something to do. Help stock shelves and sort food, or if you enjoy a more physical task, come help us at a Farm Wagon Food Distribution! You can also volunteer at special events and help Community Harvest bring awareness to the public.

Q: Does anyone at CHFB speak Spanish, or Burmese? (¿hablas español?)
A: No, we do not have anyone at this time fluent in Spanish or Burmese.

Q: Can CHFB host volunteers with special needs?
A: Yes! We have multiple things for special needs children and adults, including bag decorating, rock painting, shelf stocking / organizing, and produce bagging (sometimes). Typically…farm wagon distributions and Saturday Helping Hands are not a great fit, it really just depends! These are far more physical with a fast pace for 1-3 hours.

Q: I need verification documents signed for school, work, court, etc… can you help with this?
A: Yes, we have a templated letter, or we will sign your own documents.

We’d be happy to answer any questions you may have! Please call Mis Embury at (260) 447-3696, Ext. 306 or email at membury@communityharvest.org.
