Foellinger Foundation Supports Hunger Relief with Three-Year $105,000 Grant to Community Harvest Food Bank

Foellinger Foundation awarded a generous three-year $105,000 grant to Community Harvest Food Bank in support of hunger relief for families. The funding will provide more than 420,000 meals to children, seniors, Veterans, and families struggling with hunger and its associated health issues. With nearly 80,000 food insecure individuals living in northeast Indiana, this funding will make a substantial impact on hunger.

“We can’t say enough about the significance of this gift from the Foellinger Foundation,” said Carmen Cumberland, Executive President. “They have been generous partners in the fight against hunger, and this gift truly means the world to the families we serve. It’s hard to imagine 420,000 meals, but that is how many times someone won’t have to work, sleep, or study hungry. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts.”

Through this grant, foods like fresh produce, protein, dairy, sandwich bread, and much more will be available through Community Harvest’s in-house hunger relief programs. This will help increase food independence, as well as provide immediate relief to families experiencing hardship due to hunger.
