Grow a Row Program
Grow a Row Program
What is Grow a Row?
In 2023, CHFB launched the Grow a Row initiative to help ease the burden of global events and supply chain issues. By joining our network of local growers, you can support CHFB with fresh fruits and vegetables and provide much needed nutrition for northeast Indiana, and be part of a group effort to help fight food insecurity with garden-fresh produce! The mission of the Grow a Row program is to provide an avenue for individuals to help the most vulnerable in their areas.
As an Individual, You Make a Difference
Whether you are a beginner with a single patio plant, a seasoned green thumb with a full garden, or a farmer with acres – you can grow and harvest food for Community Harvest. We are asking you to channel your passion to plant and to grow for CHFB, to plan ahead with dedicated plants or to simply donate your surplus fruits & vegetables – we can then distribute them throughout our local communities! If the donation is large enough, we can arrange for it to be picked up by one of our trucks, otherwise, you can drop off at 999 E Tillman Road here in Fort Wayne, M-F, 8:00 to 4:00.
The Need is Great
There are thousands of individuals in northeastern Indiana that utilize food pantries, soup kitchens, or shelters:
- CHFB provides food for over 250 agencies throughout Adams, Allen, Dekalb, Huntington, Noble, LaGrange, Steuben, Wells, & Whitley Counties.
- If you would like free seeds to help you get started, you can fill out the form below and we will mail you seeds ASAP! We will offer seeds while supplies last!
- Seeds are FREE, but donations are welcome at https://www.communityharvest.org/donate/.
