Job Summary:
Community Harvest is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team. As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, performing account analysis, and assisting with various financial tasks. The ideal candidate will have experience with accounting, possess strong analytical skills, and be proficient in using Microsoft Office.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

· Manages all aspects of weekly payroll processing — collecting and verifying employee data, tracking vacation, sick time, and schedule adjustments, computing wages, completing employment verifications and garnishments, and ensuring employees receive correct payment.

· Screens daily timecards, enters timecard data, reviews keyed entries, and verifies accuracy of data entry both daily and weekly for reasonableness and consistency. Communicates with supervisors to correct and fix timecard issues.

· Coordinates with HR to ensure timely and accurate payroll deductions of employee benefit expenses.

· Works with external IT service provider to create user accounts and email addresses for new employees.

· Establishes time clock access for new employees and provides training on clock in/clock out process.

· Procures and prepares necessary hardware – laptops, muti-factor authentication devices, monitors, keyboards, mice, headsets, telephones, and other such equipment.

· Records, summarizes, evaluates, and reports on financial transactions.

· Responsible for handling account analysis, which is the overall process of managing financial transactions.

· Coordinates annual audits.

· Acts as a liaison between the organization and external IT service providers.

· Facilitates communication and coordinates efforts between employees and IT service providers.

· Serves as a mediator to resolve any issues or conflicts between the organization and external IT services.

· Assists in the interpretation of technical jargon and communicates it effectively to non-technical staff.

· Provides basic technical support and troubleshooting assistance to internal teams.

· Assists in the evaluation and selection of IT vendors and services.

· Maintains documentation related to IT processes, procedures, and vendor contracts.

· Maintains accurate records of asset allocations to employees.

· Ensures compliance with relevant IT policies, procedures, and regulations.

· Assists the Finance and HR departments with record retention and miscellaneous clerical tasks.

PHYSICAL/LIFE SKILLS/PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Excellent organization and telephone skills are mandatory

  • Advanced Mathematical skills and strong attention to detail
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Proficient with payroll software

· Professionally mature with the ability to handle multiple priorities and work independently under general supervision

· Dependable and Punctual

· Ability to accurately transcribe and/or extract information from drafts, notes, and memos

· Must be willing/able to work overtime and weekends as requested

· Must be at least 18 years of age or older

· Must have reliable means of transportation to and from work

· Must be willing to travel, including overnight or longer

· Be able to work with a high level of professional integrity & confidentiality

· Must have strong sense of meeting deadlines and follow up capabilities

· Excellent problem-solving ability

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Excellent ability to work with a diverse group of people with successful results

· Ability to work under conditions that generate frequent interruptions and maintain accuracy of detail under pressure of meeting deadlines

· Ability to detect errors in correspondence or printed materials.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Four-year college degree preferred

· Three to Five years Bookkeeper experience preferred

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

· Must have a valid driver’s license, automobile insurance and reliable transportation.
