Our Inaugural Community Excellence Award goes to…

We are proud to present Midwest America FCU’s Membership with our inaugural Community Excellence Award!

This morning, we surprised Jamie and the Tillman Road Branch staff with this recognition—an honor that CHFB is thrilled to extend to all of you.

For decades, CHFB has hosted a Saturday morning food distribution known as Helping Hands. In recent years, attendance has grown significantly—from a few hundred families to nearly 2,000 each weekend. That means over a thousand vehicles moving through our campus—and surrounding areas—every Saturday morning between 7:00 and 10:00 a.m., including the parking lot shared with your branch.

This increased traffic can make accessing the ATM and night depository at the Tillman Branch much less convenient. And yet, MidWest America members have shown incredible understanding and empathy. You’ve patiently navigated the congestion, parked and walked—often in rain, snow, or summer heat—to use the branch’s drive-up services. Even on your own busy mornings, you’ve greeted our volunteers, staff, and the families we serve with kindness and grace.

It takes a tremendous amount of coordination and effort to serve so many in need. Your small acts of patience and flexibility make a big difference across the street. For your continued understanding, support, and willingness to go out of your way, we believe this recognition is well deserved.

With heartfelt gratitude,
Community Harvest Food Bank
